Getting Over The Hurt - By : Gail Oliver Cambridge

Published: Nov 16, 2009 by glory83 Filed under: Forgiveness Healing
Most of us have been hurt by someone at some point in our lives, and we have shrugged it off, dealt with it, or kept it on our minds. Each person reacts differently, and most move on. However, some find it difficult to get over a past hurt. Are you one of those persons? If yes, what is your reason for holding on to the hurt? Do you really want to let go?

Take the story of Pat and her husband, Michael. Pat sensed that something was up with Michael. He was not as warm as he used to be and became impatient and annoyed at everything she did. She tried to get him to talk about what was bothering him, but could not get through to him. She thought the problem was his job, but it was not. She dismissed the idea of him straying. She knew that he loved her and the children too much to jeopardize their marriage. However, there were signs she could not ignore, such as his abruptly ending conversations when she came around, his lack of communication, and him not wanting to have sex! She decided to investigate. While she had never pried into his stuff because she trusted him and snooping went against her morals, he had created this problem so all bets were off. She found evidence of an affair and was devastated.

Pat went through a range of emotions. At first she was in shock. She could not believe what was happening to her. She thought it was a mistake and that Michael would have a good explanation. She trusted him and never contemplated his doing such a thing. She was crushed and feelings of insecurity washed over her. She searched for a reason for his infidelity. She questioned what she did wrong, whether she took him for granted, and what had made him unhappy, but could not pinpoint anything specific that would have turned him off from her. They were buddies, had fun, and enjoyed a good life.

Then Pat got angry. However, she decided not to confront Michael for fear she would get violent with him. The question that kept haunting her was, ?How could he do this to me?? She knew that she would leave him as the thought of him touching her filled her with disgust. However, before she left she wanted to hurt him badly and make him pay. She thought about having someone beat him up or cheating on him. She would have an affair and flaunt it, preferably with a friend of his, or better yet, with someone he did not like!

Michael?s version was that the affair was unintentional. He did not set out to have one. The other woman, Maryann, had begun flirting with him a few months back, one thing had led to another, and he ended up at her apartment. Michael had not been with anyone else since he got married, and knew he had to be careful around Pat. He also knew that she would not take it lightly and would never forgive him. But he figured it was just sex, nothing to it. Maryann knew that he would not leave his wife for her. However, what shocked Michael was that after he slept with Maryann, he regretted it! He could not believe it. While he had enjoyed their time together, the thrill was gone. He thought that he could play the game as easily as back in the day, but suddenly knew he could not separate the sexual act from his feelings. He had been playing with fire when he responded to Maryann?s flirtations, but felt that he would not follow through because he loved Pat. He had checked out women from afar, but was quite happy with his marriage and so had never strayed. He had both male and female friends who cheated, and wondered how they did it with a clear conscience. He convinced himself that his fling was nothing and planned to make it up to Pat. He hoped that Pat would not find out because he knew she would leave and take the children. He could not live without them. He was happy with Pat and their life together, and had shut her out as a cover. He could not let this slip mess up what they had built. He had risked it all?and for what? Michael still felt uneasy and prayed to God for help. He knew he had made a stupid mistake and was wrong to even go there. In thinking about mending his relationship to Pat, he felt moved to confess everything to her and plead for forgiveness.

Pat had become a Christian a year ago, but Michael had not. Although he believed in God, he was not willing to ?go all out.? Pat was still set on revenge, but wanted to speak with God one last time before making her move. She recalled the joy she had experienced when she accepted Jesus. Having a relationship with Him had done wonders in building her spiritually. As she reminisced on her journey, she heard the inner voice of the Holy Spirit saying, ?So you had one setback and are going to throw it all away? Where is your faith?? ?Ah, I have faith in God, but not in man,? Pat answered. The Holy Spirit replied, ?Oh, are you squeaky clean? What about the things you did wrong for which God has forgiven you? As a Christian you have to set the example by doing what Christ would have done. You will have trials and the test would be to see how you overcome them and what you glean from the experiences. Remember, the power of Christ is within you.? ?I know,? she whispered, ?but I cannot get over it. I am a good wife, mother, and I am smart, attractive, and sexy as hell! What more could he want?? The Holy Spirit said, ?It is not about what you did or did not do. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.? As she continued to listen, she became still allowing herself to be totally in the moment. Then she began to experience a wonderful sense of peace, the feeling spread deep within her soul. She fell to her knees and thanked God for His love and goodness to her. She had been so caught up with thoughts of revenge that she had not considered the other option?the one of forgiveness.

Therein lies the answer of getting over the hurt?forgiveness. If you want to move on and free yourself of a heavy heart, you must forgive the wrong. Forgiveness does not mean that you will forget the incident or there would be no repercussion or unaccountability. When you forgive someone you retain your power; that person or incident no longer has control over you. Forgiveness releases the ?forgiver? more so than the ?forgivee.? In a sense, forgiveness is a selfish act?you unload the burden and there is peace. It may take a while to forgive, but it would be beneficial to you to do it sooner rather than later. Why did they do that or why did that happen? All the questions you have will not resolve the issue. Oftentimes when you do get answers they are pitiful and unfulfilling, leaving you with more questions. Having an unforgiving heart and holding on to past hurts will keep you paralyzed. That person or incident will dictate all your actions?you will not attend an event because you know that the person will be there or you will go out of your way to avoid a person or place. You may even focus your time, energy, and resources, to the extent that if you do not have that to identify with, you have nothing. What is ironic is that the person who has offended you is living a guilt-free life totally oblivious to you and your feelings! Is it worth it? Do you really want to live the rest of your life hurt, angry, bitter, and lonely? Pat knew those things would immobilize her. In allowing herself to forgive Michael, she ignited a light within that healed and freed her to move forward. Forgiveness unleashed the tension and vengeance that she harbored and opened her up to the fullness of life?and it can do the same for you.

God's Word Is Your Medicine - By : Ruth Napier

God's Word Is Your Medicine

Look at Proverbs 4:20-23. It says, My son attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep they heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

Some Bibles have a letter or a number by the word "health" in verse 22 and if you look in the margin to see what it means, it will tell you the word "health" means "medicine" in the Hebrew language. So then how would it read if you put the word "medicine" in that verse instead of health? It would read, that God's Word is life and medicine to all your flesh.

These scriptures here give you direction on how to take God's Word and apply it to your life and it will make you well if you are sick, or if you aren't sick then it will keep you well. God's Word is your medicine for whatever ails you. If you take enough of it, it will bring life to you and make you well and keep you well.

But the key is to attend to God's Word like the instructions says to do here. What do you do if you attend to something or somebody? You give them your attention and let everything else go, don't you? This is what we have to do if we have a need, like healing. We must set aside time everyday to read the Word and commune with God in order to put the word in our heart. The word has to be in your heart, or spirit, before it will do you any good. It won't help you much just in your head.

It says to incline your ear to his sayings. So much of the time Christians listen to everyone else instead of what God says in his Word. If you will take the time to listen to God's Word and believe it, then you will get God's results. The world can only help us so much and they are limited in their knowledge. But God made us and knows all about how our bodies work and he certainly knows how to heal them, wouldn't you say?

So this is one way that everyone can partake of and be healed without a minister present, or anyone laying hands on you to be healed. No one even has to pray for you. Just take God's Word on healing and put those healing scriptures in your heart by reading them, meditating on them, and saying them everyday at least three or more times a day. Then you will begin to see your situation change. This is God's prescription for healing and health. You can't take an over dose of God's word. Actually, the more you take the stronger you will be and the healthier you will be.

It is really up to you how well and healthy you are, or how sick you are. Did you know that? It really is. Look at that scripture again that says, the Word is medicine to all your flesh. You can take God's Word like medicine two or three times a day until the sickness is gone. It will wipe out sickness and disease in your body if you will do what it says here. If you don't, then you may continue to stay sick if you don't find healing some other way. What if there is no cure for what you have? God's Word will heal you when Doctor's can't. There has never been a disease that the Word of God can't heal. Isn't that wonderful to know?

Find scriptures that cover your situation and start putting them in your spirit by reading them, meditating on them, and listening to what they are saying about your situation. This is how you put it in your heart. Once those scriptures are in your heart, then you will believe them more than any sickness or disease that tries to attack you. You will speak those scriptures to that sickness and tell it to leave your body, and it will go to.

This is one way, and I think the best way, that healing works when you do it according to the instructions here. Of course there are other ways to get healed, but this is one way that anyone can do when no other help is available. You can take enough of God's Medicine and wipe out any sickness or disease and be healed just you and God's Word at work together.

But if you get sick and haven't spent the time before to put the Word in your heart, then you may not have time to put the Word in your heart. You will have to see a Doctor or call someone anointed to pray for you and believe God for healing that way. Don't get caught off guard like that, spend the time now while you are well to put the Word in your heart and then when you get attacked with something, you are ready with the Word and will speak to that sickness and tell it to go from you in Jesus' name and it will leave.

God's Word in your heart is what you believe, and when you speak what you believe in your heart, that's when your healing comes. Those Words spoken in faith bring it to pass.

God's Word is your medicine. Take it everyday and walk in health.

The Miracle Healing Power - By : Wilfred Tunyira

Published: Nov 15, 2009 by glory83 Filed under: Healing Miracles
When you have the truth of God, you have that great power over all things. You can't defeat the devil in everything. All things will be possible to you.

While the Blood cleanses all sin, the Holy Spirit brings the power of heaven down for your use in your soul. To use the power of God, you will need to have total faith in the name of Jesus. You will have to believe without any doubt the greatness of the name of Jesus. Upon the mention of the name Jesus the devil flees from those that want to be delivered. It is only if you believe the name of Jesus that you can be saved: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believeth in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 18.

All power is in the name of Jesus. There is total healing in the name of Jesus. There is salvation in the name of Jesus. There is deliverance in the name of Jesus: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. Philippians 2: 10. O how mighty is the deliverance power in the name of Jesus. I have use the name of Jesus more times than once, and the Lord glorifies the name. I have witnessed many delivered of all kinds of chronic sickness and diseases; I have watch multitudes delivered of the devil's possessions upon the mention of the name of Jesus. The power in the name of Jesus is the defeating strength over the devil for all Christians. All Christians need to defeat the devil in all things. The devil's power can't match the greatness of God buried in the name of Jesus, even the devil is certain of that. Draw on the power of the name of Jesus today.

But you will need to have the righteousness of the blood of Jesus before you can draw on the power of His Name. You will have to be born-again, clothe in total humility of Jesus, and yielding to the Holy Spirit; yielding to the Spirit of truth... Clothe in same humility that Jesus came with to planet earth; you can have the whole great power of heaven living on the inside of you. And then the Holy Spirit will have to be your perfect guide in everything. He will guide and teach you how to heal, he will teach you how to rebuke the devil, he will teach you all things: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16 13.

Are you expecting a healing miracle over a certain chronic disease that wouldn't let go of you? Believe God for your miracle now. With God all things are possible. Healing will flow to you through the blood in the name of Jesus, just believe... pray with me now: Lord, here they are: whole families afflicted with AIDS, whole families afflicted with different diseases. I bring them all to you, and I bring each individual who needs your healing hand. Through faith I put their diseases under the blood; Lord, you ordained me to do it. In your name, dear Jesus: Heal! Heal! In the blood name. Heal in the all-powerful name of Jesus!

The miracle healing power is flowing is flowing, gushing forth like a mighty river to you; be thou made well, be thou made whole, and glorify the Lord for it. Magnify His holy name. He is worthy. Magnify His holy name; it's the greatest name in heave or earth. Magnify the name of the Lord through the blood. Things of God become great when you magnify the Lord.

Never forget this: all of heaven's power is in the name of Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit magnify this truth in your soul.
